Educational Needs Physicians treating patients with venous disease need to understand the algorithm for evaluating venous insufficiency, treating small and large vein disease and managing complications.
Participants This session is indicated for physicians interested in treating large and small vein disease.
Background Requirements This session is intended for both novice and advanced practitioners.
Instructional Content/Expected Learning Objectives
- Identify the anatomy and pathophysiology of superficial venous disease.
- Identify surgical and endovascular strategies for managing large vein disease. New device and techniques will be highlighted.
- Understand considerations for selection of sclerosant agent and laser devices in the treatment of varicose and telangiectatic leg veins.
- Minimize the adverse events of leg vein treatments.
