Highlights of new features for the 2016 Annual Conference are:
NEW COURSES, WORKSHOPS, and SPECIAL SESSIONS
Energy-Based Devices in Gynecology
This new Master’s Breakfast Session will highlight the use of laser and energy-based devices with merged focus between the dermatology and OB/GYN specialty fields. This course will provide new knowledge and cross-application of topics relating to scientific research, technological advancement and application, and/or hot-topic clinical studies, novel treatments, and effects on patient outcomes.
New advances in cosmetic treatments and technology offer the perfect opportunity to explore the options for non-surgical rejuvenation of the neck area. This course will provide inclusion of new faculty presentations as well as a focused topic on cutting edge treatments using new cosmetic energy-based devices and procedures.
Luminary Rapid-Fire Energy-Based Device Pearls
This Expert Panel will heat up on Sunday presenting the “Best Pearls” from top experts in a brief and rapid-fire format. Fueled with interest and excitement, luminaries will share current practice and innovative technique that is sure to provide great insight.
Special Session: Emerging Energy-Based Device Applications in Gynecology
A new feature for 2016 is the cross-over of laser and light-based technology in the field of Gynecology. This Expert Panel presentation will present hot topics with emphasis on the latest use of lasers and energy-based devices in this specialty. Join this session to explore a variety of innovative applications.
REVISED AND REFRESHED
Non-Invasive Body Contouring Options
The revised focus of this course (formerly Skinny on Fat Reduction and Skin Tightening) on Body Contouring recognizes modern applications and allows for greater exploration of and new options for mainstream aesthetic techniques, new devices and treatments, and discussion of controversies.
Pediatric Laser Focus
Due to positive feedback and a high level of interest, more time has been allotted to this course for greater depth of discussion and new topic exploration. Topics include, but are not limited to, advances in science and collaboration surrounding pediatric laser medicine, safety and effective clinical use of laser and energy-based devices as they relate to children’s health, and involvement and training of residents in pediatric laser education and non-medical clinical personnel who work in the pediatric procedural field.
Complications, Legal Issues, and Laser Safety
Join this workshop for exploration and discussion of perfectly combined pertinent issues. Discussion will surround cutaneous and ophthalmic complications from the use of energy-based devices and how to prevent such complications. The session will also explore laser safety topics and provide education applicable for extender staff, RNs, NPs, PAs, Scientists, and Clinicians. Focus will be on the importance of proper device use as well as risk reduction to prevent lawsuits and physician extender issues.

2nd Annual Celebration of ASLMS Women in Energy-Based Devices
Join us for an exciting evening of networking and inspiration at the 2nd annual Celebration of ASLMS Women in Energy-Based Devices! Guest presenters, including women from various career specialties, share advances in the field of energy-based device research, development, and application. Question and answer sessions and panelist presentations offer opportuntities to expand your knowledge and connect with peers, students/residents, and mentors. A light reception of hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available during the event.
Tech Connect (non-CME) – Now on Friday!
This popular and energized session has been moved to Friday evening to allow for easier access for all conference attendees. Listen and share feedback as this expert panel discusses their personal procedural and device preference, what works and how/why devices and techniques are used.
