Paul Friedman, MD
Paul M. Friedman, MD, board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, is the director of Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center of Houston, Texas, and also practices at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York. Dr. Friedman is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical School, department of dermatology, and a clinical assistant professor of dermatology at the Weill Cornell Medical College, Houston Methodist Hospital. He is also on staff at Texas Children's Hospital and Memorial-Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Friedman served on the ASLMS Board of Directors from 2015 to 2018 and is the newly elected Vice President. He was awarded the prestigious Leon Goldman Memorial Award at the 2019 ASLMS annual conference.
Dr. Friedman has been a featured speaker of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), and other national and international audiences. He has been recognized as a leading physician and researcher in the field and has also been involved in the development of several new laser systems and therapeutic techniques now commonly used throughout the world.
Eric Bernstein, MD, MSE
Eric F. Bernstein, MD, MSE is director of Main Line Center for Laser Surgery in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. He is currently clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and teaches about entrepreneurship and medical devices at Penn.
Dr. Bernstein is a past president of the ASLMS and has served on numerous committees.
He holds 14 U.S. and numerous international patents, has authored over 100 scientific publications, and has given more than 300 presentations worldwide. Dr. Bernstein heads and is on the advisory board of a number of medical technology companies.
Jeffrey Dover, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Dover is a director of SkinCare Physicians in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He is Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine, and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Brown Medical School.
Dr. Dover is past president of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. He received the prestigious Leon Goldman Award as well as the Ellet Drake Award of the ASLMS.
Dr. Dover is the author of over 450 scientific publications, and he has co-authored and edited over 45 textbooks. Dr. Dover is a former Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, was Chief of Dermatology at the New England Deaconess Hospital for over ten years and also Associate Chairman of Dermatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Dover has received many honors including repeated nominations for “teacher of the year” at Harvard Medical School.
Roy Geronemus, MD
Roy G. Geronemus, M.D. is a Board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and Director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York® and a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University Medical Center where he founded its laser program and served nine years as chief of dermatologic and laser surgery.
He is past president of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, and currently serves on the Nominating Committee. He has been awarded with the Ellet Drake award for outstanding contributions to laser medicine and the Leon Goldman award for excellence in clinical laser research.
Dr. Geronemus has been a featured speaker for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery for many years, as well as speaking to other national and international audiences. He has published over 300 medical articles, chapters and books. He has been involved with the development of multiple new laser systems and therapeutic techniques, which are now commonly used throughout the world.
Elizabeth Tanzi, MD
Elizabeth Tanzi, MD is an internationally known author and lecturer on cosmetic dermatology and cutaneous laser surgery. She is the Founder and Director of Capital Laser and Skin Care in suburban Washington, D.C.
Dr. Tanzi served on the Executive Committee as Secretary of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery from 2012-2015 after completing three years on the Board of Directors.
Dr. Tanzi has published over 50 original medical articles and chapters and has been involved with the development of several new laser systems and therapeutic techniques that are now used routinely by physicians around the world. She works closely with multiple medical societies to support the progress of dermatologic laser and device-based surgery. She is an annual invited speaker for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and actively serves as a journal reviewer for the Lasers in Surgery and Medicine journal.
Jill Waibel, MD
Dr. Jill S. Waibel, MD, practices as a board certified dermatologist specializing in general dermatology, cutaneous laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology for adults and children. She is currently the medical director and owner of the Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute in Miami. Dr. Waibel is the subsection chief of Dermatology at Baptist Hospital and serves as a Clinical Voluntary Assistant Professor at the University of Miami.
Dr. Waibel serves on the ASLMS Board of Directors as Laser Surgery Representative and is active on multiple committees. She was the recipient of the ASLMS Leadership, Mentorship, Public Advocacy for Women in Medical Science Award in 2017 and the Ellet H. Drake Memorial Award in 2018.
She is a world-recognized leader in dermatologic laser surgery and lectures all over the world to train other physicians. One of Dr. Waibel’s primary passions is the treatment of scars by applying today’s latest cutaneous laser technologies. She has successfully developed industry-leading procedures and techniques with lasers, received numerous awards for her contributions to medicine, and published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and several textbook chapters. Dr. Waibel lectures, collaborates and trains military physicians to help the wounded warriors.
