Recorded Presentations

General Details

• All presentations will be reviewed for general compliance and formatting.
• Presenters will receive information via email from the ASLMS office.
• Recorded presentations may be published on the website or within the ASLMS Online Learning Center, accessible for member and non-member viewing.

Requirements

• All authors who plan to submit a recorded presentation must sign the ASLMS Education Presentation Agreement. (click link to submit the form online)

  NOTE - The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Although the ASLMS will not offer CME credit for online viewing of abstract presentations, our educational standards still follow general ACCME regulations which require that all presentations be created without the appearance of a conflict of interest and cannot contain any advertising, trade names, corporate logos, or product-group messages.

Review Criteria for Recorded Abstract Presentations

• Accurate data and well supported research.
• Adherence to format requirements (below).
• Adherence to CME requirements (must be free of conflict of interest and cannot contain any advertising or trade names; no corporate, affiliate or brand logos; no product-group messages).
• No typographical and grammatical errors.
• Clear images - if used.

Recorded Presentation Format  

• Use PowerPoint, Keynote, Zoom, Google Meet or other presentation systems to record your voice over your slide presentation.
• Do NOT record full-body video - only an audio recording of voice with slides, similar to an online screen share during a meeting.
• Presentations must be submitted in MP4 format.
• Use 16:9 ratio (widescreen format)
• A disclosure slide listing any and all financial relationships with commercial interests for the past 12 months must be included at the beginning of the presentation.
• Presentation length should be within 4 - 6 minutes maximum.
• Limit the presentation to 10 slides maximum. Focus on the most important details of your research.
• Maintain an even paced, easy-to-follow presentation rate.
• Commercial slides and product promotion is not permitted. Avoid advertising trade names, corporate logos and product-group messages.
• Avoid use of embedded videos to help limit file size for efficient upload.
• URLs and other internet links will not be supported.
  

NOTE - Although ASLMS staff may review submitted recordings for general format and content compliance, your video will NOT BE EDITED by ASLMS. Please review your video prior to submitting to ensure quality.

Recording Tips

• Use a hard-wired internet connection (rather than WiFi) to help avoid interruptions in services or "glitches".
• Create a script and practice your presentation to check sound and visual quality.
• Record in a quiet environment free of noise such as typing, tapping, voices, etc.
• Use an external microphone for best sound quality. Regardless, be sure to test your microphone for best quality.
