Dermatology
Include the following uses:
  1. Enlarged blood vessels (telangiectasias) on the face and legs; red nose and red cheeks; dilated vessels on the legs and deeper, varicose veins.
  2. Wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, and aging skin on the face, neck and chest, and other areas on the body.
  3. Unwanted hair.
  4. Port wine stains, hemangiomas and other benign blood vessel lesions
  5. Pigmented color changes, such as from sun damage (freckling "sun spots"), birthmarks, cafe' au lait macules.
  6. Benign skin growths.
  7. Stretchmarks.
  8. Scars.
  9. Traumatic and decorative tattoos.
  10. Acne, acne rosacea and acne scarring.
  11. Precancerous lesions and some types of skin cancer.
  12. Unwanted localized areas of fat such as the upper neck, abdomen arms and other areas of the body.

There are many different lasers that can be used for each indication. It is best to discuss this with a physician member of the ASLMS.
